NEW DELHI: Today, September 19multiple train disruptions have occurred in the Mumbai and Gujarat regions due to heavy rainfall, impacting Western Railways. The adverse weather conditions have also led to the rescheduling of several train services. Here is a comprehensive list of the affected trains:

Impact in Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh
Unprecedented heavy rains in Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh have significantly disrupted train schedules, particularly on the Mumbai-Delhi sector, with a particular focus on the Western Railway. The critical Bridge No. 502, spanning the River Narmada between Bharuch and Ankleshwar, is experiencing water levels exceeding 40 feet, surpassing the danger mark. Consequently, all railway traffic has been halted, causing delays and cancellations for numerous train services.

Sumit Thakur, the Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of the Western Railway, reported that the water levels in the Bharuch-Ankleshwar section rose above the danger mark at around 11 pm yesterday, leading to the suspension of train movements. Although train services have resumed after the water level receded, speed restrictions have been imposed. Approximately 30 trains were cancelled, and others experienced delays. Stations have arranged for refreshments, and bus services from Baroda and Surat have been provided to assist passengers.

Train Disruptions in Gujarat
The heavy rains, coupled with the release of water from the Sardar Sarovar Dam into the Narmada River, have severely impacted train services in Gujarat. The Western Railways has established helpline numbers to provide passengers with essential train-related information. Train traffic between Bharuch and Ankleshwar stations in the Vadodara division, along the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route, has come to a standstill due to the rising water levels of the Narmada River at Bridge No. 502.

Additionally, train number 09622 (BDTS-AII), originally scheduled for September 18, 2023, and previously rerouted via ADI-PNU-AII, has now been reinstated to its original route.

Cancellation of Several Trains
Due to adverse weather conditions, multiple trains on the Mumbai-Delhi sector have been cancelled. These include:

Train number 14708, the Dadar Bikaner Express, is scheduled for September 19, 2023.
Train number 19426, the NDB MMCT Express, is scheduled for September 19, 2023.
Train number 19417, the MMCT ADI Express, is scheduled for September 20, 2023.

Moreover, eight trains connecting Vadodara to Ekta Nagar, home to the Statue of Unity, were cancelled for a day. Three other trains remain indefinitely cancelled. Furthermore, approximately a dozen trains, including the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Tejas Express and Shatabdi Express, were cancelled yesterday due to flooding, as reported by the Western Railway.

Heavy rains and rising water levels in key areas have disrupted train services in the Mumbai and Gujarat regions, leading to delays and cancellations of numerous trains. Passengers are advised to stay updated through the provided helpline numbers and expect potential delays in their travel plans.
