New Delhi: The Indian government has said that within the next two to three days, 26 aircraft will fly back Indians from ukraine's neighbouring countries. The government has said that there are no Indians left in Kiev anymore. The government has expedited the process of bringing in stranded Indians after an Indian student was killed in Russian firing in Kharkiv, Ukraine. Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla has informed that 26 aircraft are being dispatched to bring students who have crossed the border from Ukraine to neighbouring countries.
On Tuesday, a crucial meeting of ministers of the Indian government was held in which the Ukraine crisis was discussed. After the meeting led by PM Narendra Modi, Shringla said that 46 flights will operate till March 8 as part of the "Operation Ganga" campaign being run to bring back Indians stranded in Ukraine. Of these, 29 will take off from Bucharest, 10 from Budapest, six from the Polish city of Geozo and one from Slovakia.
With this, an Indian Air Force aircraft has been dispatched to Bucharest on Wednesday morning. The Foreign Secretary has said that the Indian Embassy in Kiev has been closed and the staff have left in view of the possible spurt in the russian army's action. He also said that there are no Indians left in The Ukrainian capital Kiev now.
