Washington:  Ajit Doval, the national security advisor for India, was greeted at the White House on February 1 by Jake Sullivan, the national security advisor for the US, in a bid "to begin the next milestone" in the US-India strategic technology and defence collaboration.

On January 30, along with officials from Applied Materials Inc., Lockheed Martin Corp., and Adani Enterprises, Sullivan and Doval attended a Chamber of Commerce event.

Doval will be in Washington, D.C., on business from January 30 to February 1. He is accompanied by senior government officials and business leaders from India. The ambassador of India to the US, Taranjit Singh Sandhu, hosted US Senators Mark Warner and John Cornyn in India House where they spoke about fostering relations.

"Proud to welcome Indian National Security Advisor Doval to the White House to usher in the next development in the strategic military and technology collaboration between the United States and India. Together, we will support our businesses and people while advancing a free and open Indo-Pacific, according to Sullivan's tweet.

According to US President Joe Biden, this cooperation will enable India and the US to compete with China in the production of military gear, semiconductors, and artificial intelligence (AI).

America aims to increase the number of Western mobile phone networks in the subcontinent in order to compete with Huawei of China. Additionally, Washington wants to encourage collaboration between American and Indian enterprises producing military gear like artillery systems and draw more Indian computer chip specialists to the US.
