Bhubaneswar: On Tuesday, Nipah virus reached in Kochi, Kerala. Here a 23-year-old engineering graduate student was found infected with the deadly virus. Two of her friends and two nurses who treated her have been shifted to separate wards. The Kerala Health department has told people not to panic.

As per the information received from the sources, the Health Department of the State government has 311 people under the supervision of the Doctor. Those who have been in contact with patients during the last two weeks have been kept under observation. Fever, headaches, muscle aches, vomiting, and sore throat are symptoms of Nipah. Apart from these, dizziness, lethargy, neurological disorders and breathing problems are a sign of sickness.

With this, there is no medicine or vaccine to eliminate the Nipah virus. It kills 40-70 percent of the viral people infected. Bats are believed to be carriers of the virus. In Kochi, many people are seen having masks on the face and wearing gloves. However, the Kerala government has not asked the people to do so. A number of medical stores have registered an increase in the sales of face-raising masks and gloves. Doctors say this time the state has made a protocol to deal with the situation.
