New Delhi: The hanging of Nirbhaya convicts is getting delayed day by day. The question of when Nirbhaya's criminals will be hanged still remains. Meanwhile, AP Singh, who was a lawyer since the beginning of convict Pawan, has distanced himself from this case. Now he will not plead guilty to Pawan. He has not yet filed a mercy petition with the curator and the President in the Supreme Court. Now the court will provide a new lawyer to Pawan and the new lawyer will demand more time to understand the case. This may take more time to hang. The Delhi High Court had last week asked the convicts to use their legal remedies within a week. Its duration was completed on Tuesday.

After curative dismissal, there will be an option of mercy petition of Pawan. The curative and mercy petitions of all the other convicts have already been dismissed. Pawan's lawyer AP Singh had said that according to the High Court order, he will use his legal remedies. It is also being said that the review petition in the main case of Pawan was dismissed on 9 July 2018.

Pawan also argues that he was a minor at the time of the incident. In such a case, his case should be treated like a minor. The plea claiming that he was a minor was rejected by the Supreme Court on 20 January. After this, the review was rejected. A curative petition was to be filed on behalf of Pawan in the Juvenile case. If this application is rejected, then a curative petition will be filed by Pawan. If the curator is rejected, then a mercy petition will be filed on his behalf.
