PURI: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, ahead of her Birthday tomorrow, August 18,  along with fellow central cabinet colleague Dharmendra Pradhan, offered prayers today at the Jagannath Temple in Puri .

Joining them on this auspicious pilgrimage was Sambit Patra, the national spokesperson for the BJP.

As per an official statement, the Union Ministers have a series of significant engagements lined up in Puri for the upcoming Thursday. Among these, a profound visit to the revered Shree Mandira is planned, where they will pay homage to centuries-old traditions.

In sync with their visit, Sudarshan Patnaik, a globally acclaimed sand artist, has crafted his latest masterpiece themed 'Meri Maati Mera Desh'. This captivating creation will grace the sands of Blue Flag Beach, Mayfair, and Puri.
Subsequently, the ministers will actively participate in an environmental conservation initiative, including a plantation drive within the tranquil surroundings of the Central Sanskrit University's Residential Complex at Sadashiva Campus, near Penthakata, Puri.

Further commemorating the legacy of freedom, the ministers will visit the birthplace of the eminent Saheed Jayee Rajguru and undertake the symbolic Amrit Kalash Yatra at Biraharekrushnapur, Puri.

This eventful day will underscore the importance of preserving Odisha's rich heritage, fostering a deeper connection with the nation, and nurturing a strong sense of responsibility towards both the environment and the country.
