New Delhi: The industrial slowdown in the country is causing problems. Its worst hit has been on the auto sector. The automobile industry is constantly demanding relief packages from the government. The auto sector is deeply concerned about the GST rate. It has urged the government several times about this. Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has given a statement in this matter. Gadkari said that the GST criterion is in the hands of the Ministry of Finance. He said that the decision to cut GST is to be decided by the Ministry of Finance as well as the State Governments and the GST Council.

Two-wheelers are also included in this policy. Work is underway on this and the policy will be released soon. Last week at the annual conference of vehicle manufacturers' association SIAM, Gadkari assured the auto industry that he would take up the issue of reducing the GST rate on vehicles from 28 to 18 percent.

In a separate conversation on the occasion of Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India's BS-6 standard scooter, Nitin Gadkari said, "I have already talked to the Finance Minister about this. But if the Finance Minister takes a decision, he will have to consult the Finance Ministers of the states and the GST Council for this.
