Speaking in Road Safety Week, the minister said that every year 5 lakh accidents happen in the country and around 1.5 lakh people are killed, and two and a half lakh people are injured. Apart from this, Nitin Gadkari said that 62% of the accidents on the road occur among people aged 18-35.
