Everyday someone dies in a road accident. In the Road Surjha Week program, Union Road Transport Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari told some shocking figures. Speaking in Road Safety Week, the minister said that every year 5 lakh accidents happen in the country and around 1.5 lakh people are killed, and two and a half lakh people are injured. Apart from this, Nitin Gadkari said that 62% of the accidents on the road occur among people aged 18-35.

He said that even after a lot of effort, our ministry cannot reduce these accidents. The minister praised the state of Tamil Nadu for reducing road accidents. He said that Tamil Nadu has reduced road accidents by 29 to 30%. During the program, he made people aware about traffic rules and appealed to follow them properly.

On Friday, the sleeper bus going from Kannauj to Jaipur on GT Road collided with the truck. A fierce collision of a luxury bus and truck caused the truck's diesel tank to explode, causing both the truck and bus to catch fire.
