During the lockdown, there was a flood of old shows on TV. This experiment started with Ramanand Sagar's Ramayana which was such a hit that all the channels started telecasting the old shows again. The series is still going on. While Ramayana-Mahabharata-Shrikrishna got bumper TRPs, Nitish Bhardwaj's show Vishnu Purana is not being successful as expected among the audience. Vishnu Purana is being broadcast on DD Bharati from 14 May. This show has not made it to the top-5 shows in the Hindi GEC category of BARC ratings so far.

Seeing the TRP, it seems that this show has failed to entertain the audience during the lockdown. Vishnu Puran was directed by Ravi Chopra. It was first telecast on 3 January 2000. Apart from Nitish Bhardwaj, Vaidehi Amarute, Sudhir Dalvi, Samar Jai Singh, Indra Mohan, Vikrant Chaturvedi appeared in the lead roles in Vishnu Purana.

Sri Krishna has become the number one show in the BARC's 20th week TRP rating.
