Malayalam actor Nivin Pauly is going to collaborate for the first time with director Gautham Ramchandra. In his very latest interview with Times Of India, he has said that " his interest to collaborate with Kannada actor-filmmaker Rakshit Shetty. Incidentally, Nivin’s Richie is a remake of Rakshit’s widely popular Kannada blockbuster Ulidavaru Kandanthe. He’s been closely following Rakshit’s work ever since he began shooting for Richie".
He has done a bilingual film Neram early in his movie career moreover he has started working with filmmakers outside the Malayalam industry. On plans to collaborate with Rakshit, Nivin said: “We are planning to work together soon. It could start off with a cameo and later move to bigger things, but we have to start off somewhere. It’s high time we did away with this language divide and started working as artists.
” The Premium star is currently shooting for Malayalam period film Kayamkulam Kochunni in Mangalore for over a month. Nivin has been training in Kalaripayattu every morning for the film. In the film, he plays Kochunni, a famed highwayman who was popular in the 19th century. “I train for it every morning with the team of martial arts experts who have come with us from Kerala. Since this period film is about the real-life Robin Hood of Kerala, Kayamkulam Kochunni, director Rosshan Andrrews felt that coastal Karnataka, with its old-world charm, would fit the bill perfectly in terms of location,” he said. The team will continue shooting in Mangalore for one more month.
