No Directions from ECI to CBDT with respect to IT notice to Sharad Pawar

New Delhi: The Central Board of Direct Taxes has given an income tax notice to NCP chief and Rajya Sabha MP Sharad Pawar. Now, the election Commission has made a statement on this. In the statement, it is stated that "They did not instruct him to do so". Talking about this, the commission said, "This notice has been sent by the Income-tax department. " Earlier, Sharad Pawar had said last Tuesday, "The Income Tax department has sent him a notice to the election commission in connection with the election affidavits submitted by him."

Now, the Commission in its new statement has said, "In some sections of the media, it has been reported that an income tax notice has been issued to Member of Parliament Sharad Pawar on the direction of the Election Commission of India. The Election Commission of India has not issued any such direction to the CBDT to issue notices to Pawar". Sharad Pawar had interacted with reporters in Mumbai last Tuesday.

In the talks, he said, "The income tax department has sought clarifications in connection with some of the election affidavits given by him". In addition, he said, "Yesterday I got a notice. I am happy that among all the members I got the notice. The income tax department issued a notice We will respond to the notice".
