No plan to relax UGC NET requirement for lectureship posts: Ramesh Pokhriyal

New Delhi: The Ministry of Education is not going to make any relaxation in the UGC NET requirement for lectureship posts. Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ on Friday ruled out any proposal to relax the requirement of UGC-NET exam for lecturership posts in government as well as private colleges.

The minister made the statement in response to a written question in Rajya Sabha on Friday. He said, “The University Grants Commission (UGC) has informed that there is no proposal at present to relax the UGC NET exam for lecturership posts,”.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) had on February 2 announced the dates for the upcoming UGC NET examination 2021.

“The National Testing Agency will conduct next UGC-NET exam for Junior Research Fellowship and eligibility for Assistant Professor on 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 11, 12, 14 & May 17, 2021,” Pokhriyal had tweeted. The exam will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. Those, who want to appear for the same, can check details by visiting the official website, nta.ac.in.

The UGC NET 2021 application window is open till March 2, while the application fees can be paid up to March 3. Candidates need to visit the official website to fill up the application.
