Arun Dhumal, treasurer of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, the world's richest cricket body, said on Friday that the board is no longer discussing cutting players' fees despite facing financial losses due to suspension of cricket activities, including the Indian Premier League. Dhumal said that the players' salary cuts will be the last thing. Due to the outbreak of the Corona virus epidemic, cricket has been suspended in the country since March. Dhumal said in his statement, 'We are not discussing salary cuts right now. We are hoping that we will be able to overcome this despite the financial crisis. But yes IPL will be a big revenue loss for BCCI when any situation comes, we will think about it but it will be the last thing. In that case, we will take recourse to the cut in the fees of the players.

BCCI will look for other revenue schemes: However, the treasurer admitted that the board will implement cost-cutting wherever possible and will look for more revenue schemes to make up for the loss. Dhumal said, 'Whatever we can spend or whatever we can save, we are working on it. It is a continuous process and it only started before the epidemic. We're working on it. We will reduce our costs and look at some other revenue plans. BCCI will cut the expenses of its employees to overcome the revenue deficit.

Dhumal said, 'Till now, nothing has been thought about the players. But we are thinking about the expenditure on employees or officers and we are working on wherever we can save by cutting wasteful expenses. Wherever there is a possibility of deduction, be it travel-related, accommodation, related to employees, then all those things will be taken care of.
