"no PM vacancy till 2024: BJP on Rahul Gandhi's aspiration to become PM

HYDERABAD: With a fresh attack to Congress president Rahul Gandhi, the BJP has asserted that he seems to be day-dreaming about crowning the prime minister of the country – a post which will in fact remain engaged till 2024.

Hitting out at Rahul Gandhi's Prime Ministerial aspirations senior BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain who stated that there was no vacancy for the top place of duty till 2024 as Narendra Modi would again peruse it after the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

"Now Rahul ji is saying he is ready to become Prime Minister....He is day-dreaming and congratulations for his beautiful dreams. But there is no vacancy for the PM post till 2024," Hussain tweeted.

"The countrymen chose Narendra Modi ji for the Prime Minister's post and, after the 2019 elections, he will again become the country's PM...Congress leaders also know this", the Bihar BJP leader lauded while addressing to reporters.

As per reports from EC a total of 2655 candidates, including 219 women are in the poll fray in the election.

The election in Karnataka will be conducted on May 12 in 223 constituencies, out of 224 of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly while the counting of votes and announcement of result will held on May 15.

The election for one constituency has been deferred following the death of B.N. Vijay Kumar, Jayanagar BJP candidate.
