Mumbai: NCP leader and state deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar has reacted amid speculation of a rift in Maharashtra's Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance. In fact, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar recently said, "There is no matter in reports claiming a rift between the ruling coalition partners in the state.'' Shiv Sena, NCP, and Congress are involved in the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance and all three are still in the government.

In fact, the NCP leader also hit out at BJP state unit president Chandrakant Patil, who has demanded a CBI probe into the allegations leveled against him and another minister of state by sacked Mumbai Police officer Sachin Vaze. In fact, he said, "Chandrakant Patil has made this demand on the basis of allegations made by the jailed criminal who tarnished the image of the police department. Shiv Sena MLA from Kolhapur Rajesh Kshirsagar had leveled corruption allegations against Patil when Chandrakant Dada (BJP) was the Minister of Revenue, Public Works, and Cooperation in the government.''

At the same time, Ajit Pawar also said, "NCP President Sharad Pawar has already said that the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government will complete a five-year term.'' He further said, "We have elected our Chief Minister and that too for five years. The decision was taken by top leaders of the three parties - Sonia Gandhi (Congress), Sharad Pawar (NCP), and Uddhav Thackeray (Shiv Sena).'' The Deputy Chief Minister also said, "Our leader Sharad Pawar has said that the government will complete five years in power. Congress leaders Nana Patole and Balasaheb Thorat have also said that Soniaji wants the government to continue for five years. The reports (about differences between colleagues) are baseless. They have no strength.''
