A large BJP delegation on Thursday to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the party’s national leaders. The 13-member delegation includes Speaker Embalam R. Selvam, the two newly-inducted Ministers A. Namassivayam and Sai Saravanan Kumar, four elected MLAs and three nominated MLAs. BJP State president A. Saminathan said the Prime Minister has given them an appointment for a meeting on Thursday.
The delegation will also meet Home Minister Amit Shah and party national president J.P. Nadda. “We will seek guidance and continuation of support to implement the Prime Minister’s vision for the Union Territory,” Mr. Saminathan said.
President of Puducherry unit of the BJP V Saminathan accompanied the delegation which also held discussions with Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Arjun Ram Meghwal. As per reports, it said that the MLAs urged the Prime Minister to expeditiously sanction developmental projects for the union territory. The AINRC led NDA government has ministers belonging to the AINRC and BJP.
The ministry here has six members including the Chief Minister. While Rangasamy was sworn in Chief Minister on May 7 the other five ministers (three belonging to the AINRC and two to BJP) were sworn in on June 27.
