Today, March 10,  is observed as No Smoking Day.  No Smoking Day is being observed every year on the second Wednesday of March to encourage people over the world to quit smoking.

The key purpose of this day is to spread awareness about the harmful health effects of tobacco consumption through cigarettes and other modes. The vital message is to help smokers to get rid of the bad habit of smoking. Smoking or chewing tobacco is one of the worst habits one can adopt.

The health risks are known to all but still thousands of youth, who begin smoking each day. Some start it out of inquisitiveness and others might just want to look like grownups. However, the effect of smoking starts with coughing and throat irritation accompanied by bad breath and bad-smelling clothes. It also leads to patchy skin and discolouration of teeth.

The No Smoking Day is so important because, Over the last few decades, it has become very clear that smoking is dangerous still thousands of people start smoking each day. Some start it out of curiosity and others just for any other reason. Therefore, to motivate people to live their lives tobacco-free No Smoking Day is important.
