No victory procession after the counting of votes on May 3 : Telangana election commission

Amid covid surge in state on May 3 voting counting is going to took place. In this regard Telangana State Election Commission(TSEC) seen very alert and strict after high court reprimand about election held in various places. Telangana State Election Commission has banned victory processions/ rallies by candidates and parties.

Let us share here that Partha Sarathi, the TSEC Commissioner issued an order stating "No victory procession after the counting of votes on May 3 shall be permissible. Not more than two persons shall be allowed to accompany the winning candidate or his/her authorised representative to receive the certificate of election from the returning officer." Here   it is to be noted that the arrangements for polling have been done with strict Covid-19 restrictions. On Friday, voting will be held in Warangal and Khammam municipal corporations except for municipalities in Atchampet, Siddipet, Nakrekal, Jadcherla and Kothur. Besides this, in the GHMC, voting is for the Lingojiguda division and a ward each in Gajwel, Nalgonda, Bodhan and Parkal municipalities.

However, to be noted that a total of 11,34,032 persons are eligible to exercise their voting rights in these polls. The SEC has deployed 9,809 personnel in 1,539 polling booths arranged. Additional police forces will be staffed in 676 sensitive polling booths. The polling will be held through ballot papers. A total of 2,500 ballot boxes were supplied to the polling booths.
