Normal train services in Assam to back on track from February 22

The deadly coronavirus has affected the operations of railways for many months. Now, Train service in the country is getting back on the track. The Northeast Frontier (NFR) railway resume normal passenger train operations between Assam’s Dhubri to Bengal’s Siliguri from February 22.

The train service was stopped due to the nationwide lockdown imposed to contain the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic. The NF Railway is going to resume normal train services nearly after one year. One pair of DEMU Special trains will run daily between Dhubri to Siliguri Jn. while another Mail Express will be run tri-weekly between the Bengal’s Alipurdwar Jn to Assam’s Silighat Jn.via Dhubri, Fakiragram, New Bongaigaon, Goalpara and Guwahati.

The Siliguri-Dhubri DEMU special will leave Siliguri Jn. daily at 5 in the morning and will arrive at Dhubri at 12 noon while the same DEMU Special will be back and leave Dhubri daily at 12.15 pm and reached Siliguri Jn at 9.55 pm. The other train bearing No 05417 will leave from Alipurduar Jn. at 5 in the evening on every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday and will arrive at Dhubri at 7.45 pm and will leave Dhubri at 08.10 pm and reached Guwahati at 4.30 am on next day and finally will arrive Silghat Jn at 9 am.
