The court has ordered that whatever goods, including Novak Djokovic's passport, have been seized by the government, are going to be returned immediately. Djokovic was in the immigration department hotel for four days after his visa was cancelled. Djokovic is accused of not getting the covid vaccine, while Australia has strict laws.
Now that Djokovic has won the case, he is almost certain to play in the Australian Open. Despite this, a Minister in the Australian Government has said that the government still has the power to send Djokovic out of Australia and a decision is going to be taken soon.
Djokovic opposed the vaccine: Just last year, Djokovic started openly opposing the vaccine. He had said in the middle of a Facebook chat that he was against vaccination. He doesn't like to have to get a covid vaccine to play tennis. This is his personal matter. It has nothing to do with tennis. However, the reason for not getting vaccinated was not given.
