USA: The Nintendo Switch is an amazing piece of technology. With its built-in 6.2-inch screen, it enables gaming on your big TV both at home and on the go. However, the poor battery life that comes with that level of mobile processing power is a tradeoff.
Thank goodness Anker has developed a new battery pack that can charge the Switch just as quickly as if it were plugged directly into the wall.
Many gamers have had difficulty locating a battery pack that will provide enough power to charge a Switch, much less allow them to play and charge simultaneously. But the recently released $99 Anker PowerCore+
Many gamers have had difficulty locating a battery pack that will provide enough power to charge a Switch, much less allow them to play and charge simultaneously.
The new $99 Anker PowerCore+ (opens in new tab) 26800 PD, on the other hand, can deliver up to 30 watts of power using Anker's proprietary USB-C Power Delivery technology to ensure the fastest charging times possible. It can charge the Switch more than six times from 0-100.
Besides charging the Switch, the PowerCore+ 26800 has many other uses. The LG V20 and iPad Pro, among other devices, can be charged even faster with Anker's new battery pack, according to the company.
I had a chance to use the PowerCore 26800 for the first time, and I'm happy to report that it performs exactly as promised. There are two USB Type-A ports that can deliver up to 5V of power at 3A, in addition to a single USB-C port.
The battery includes a wall charger or anything that uses USB-C to charge the pack, a mesh carrying pouch, and two cables: an old USB Type-A to micro USB cord and a double-sided USB -C cord that adheres to USB PD standards.

Remember to press the button on top to recharge the battery pack as its USB-C port can be used to transmit and receive power.
Essentially the only drawback of the PowerCore+ 26800 is its weight. It weighs 1.3 pounds, which is a lot more than the undocked Switch, which weighs only 0.9 pounds. Therefore, it might be a good idea to spend the money on a larger Switch case if you intend to bring it on your travels.
The PowerCore+ appears to be the battery pack for your Switch, though I hope Anker releases a smaller-capacity model that's easier to carry around.

Oh, and if you're considering buying one for yourself, make sure it specifically states USB-C PD in the description. An older model of the PowerCore 26800 is available, but it doesn't produce as much.
