Punjab: Karnataka Hijab controversy has now started spreading in other states, while in some places political parties are also working to spread it. Meanwhile, Congress has raised this issue in the Punjab Assembly elections. Senior Congress leader Sunil Jakhar has said that if questions are being raised on the hijab today, then tomorrow questions may also arise on the turban of the Sikhs. And in such a situation, PM Narendra Modi, who is visiting Punjab on 14th, will have to answer on this whole controversy.

Sunil Jakhar has also raised questions on the silence of Shiromani Gurdwara Management Committee (SGPC) and Akal Takht on the Hijab issue. On the other hand, the Supreme Court has refused to urgently hear the petition filed against the ban on wearing hijab in schools and colleges of Karnataka. A bench of Chief Justice (CJI) NV Ramanna has said that the petition will be heard at an appropriate time. Along with this, the court has advised the petitioners not to spread the matter on a large scale.

The bench of CJI NV Ramanna asked the petitioners not to make it a national issue. The court categorically said that the petitioners should wait for the High Court's decision on this issue, which is to be heard once again on Monday. The top court said that it will hear the issue when the time comes. While hearing the matter, the Supreme Court said, 'We are watching what is happening in Karnataka and the matter is sub judice in the High Court.'
