USA: Now, even if you switch devices, you can continue watching YouTube videos where you left off. But you can only do that if you have a Premium subscription.
A better 1080p HD video quality mode is one of five new features the streaming giant has added for Premium subscribers. It is also introducing a smart downloads feature that enables offline video viewing.
An "enhanced bitrate version of 1080p HD video quality" will be the new YouTube Premium video quality option.
In particular for videos that are laden with motion and detail, the enhanced 1080p setting is said to provide "deeper visual quality" and make videos look "extra crisp and clear." It is currently available on iOS and will soon be available online.
According to YouTube, videos uploaded with resolutions higher or lower than 1080p, live streams, and shorts won't have access to the enhanced 1080p HD video quality option. However, there will still be a 1080p quality option available.
Whether you're on Android, iOS, or the desktop site, YouTube Premium now lets you resume watching videos where you left off.
If you watch something on a larger screen or if the battery on your current device runs out, this feature might be especially useful. It will enable "you to jump back in without a single interruption" either way.
When you are connected to Wi-Fi, YouTube's smart downloads feature automatically adds suggested videos to your in-app library so you can later view them offline. This feature is currently being rolled out by YouTube. This option will save you if you are travelling and lack connectivity or if you simply forgot to download videos beforehand.

Additionally, for Premium members, YouTube is extending its queuing feature to phones and tablets. You can make a list of the videos you want to watch next using this feature.
YouTube recently launched a feature on Android that allows Premium subscribers to watch videos with friends and family via Google Meet, regardless of whether the other participants have a Premium subscription or not. Additionally, iOS will soon have this option. Through SharePlay, users will be able to watch videos with one another while using FaceTime. In the upcoming weeks, this feature will be made available.
To upgrade to YouTube Premium, you can select either prepaid or subscription plans. The free trial period for the subscription plans lasts for one month, after which you must pay Rs. 129 each month. Prepaid plans range in price from Rs. 139 per month to Rs. 1,290 for a full year. The cost of the three-month prepaid plan is Rs 399.
You can watch videos on YouTube Premium without seeing any ads. Even when you switch to another app or lock your screen, the video will continue to play.
You also gain access to YouTube Music Premium, which offers ad-free listening, with the subscription. On your device, you can download music and videos and stream them offline as well.
