Government doctors will have to work for at least 10 years in UP

The UP government has decided to enforce a major rule on government doctors. The order issued by the Principal Secretary, Ministry of Health said that after PG, doctors are required to provide government services for at least 10 years. If they leave the job in between, they will have to pay Rs. 1 crore to the government. More than 15,000 posts of doctors are vacant in government hospitals in UP.

More than 15,000 posts are created by doctors in government hospitals. 11 thousand doctors are posted. MBBS doctor who is employed in a rural government hospital for one year gets 10 points concession in NEET PG entrance examination. Doctors who serve 2 years get a rebate of up to 20 and who serve 3 years till 30 numbers. Hundreds of MBBS doctors posted in government hospitals every year take admission in PG.

Director General Dr. DS Negi said that if a doctor leaves the PG course study in between. Such doctors will be debar for 3 years. In these 3 years, they will not be able to get admission again.

The medical officer will be informed of the job immediately after completing his studies. After PG, government doctors cannot do senior residency. No NOC is going to be issued from the Ministry in this direction. DNB courses are being run in several government hospitals. They require a senior resident. The doctors of the Ministry will be used as senior residents.
