New Delhi: The permanent commission of women in the Indian Army has been officially approved by the Union Ministry of Defense. After the acceptance letter issued by the government on Thursday, now women will be posted in various top positions in the army. According to the order, women officers of the Short Service Commission (SSC) have been allowed permanent commission in all ten parts of the Indian Army.

After this order, women officers will now get permanent commission in Army Air Defense, Signal, Engineer, Mechanical Engineering, Army Service Corps, Army Aviation, Electronics, Army Ordinance Corps and Intelligence Corps. Along with this, this facility will also be available in the Judge and Advocate General, Army Educational Corps. After this order, now the Permanent Commission Selection Board will be able to deploy women officers. For this, the army headquarters has taken many other actions. Action will be initiated by the Selection Board on behalf of all SSC women on completion of all options and paperwork. 

However, this appointment will not be in combative operation, the apex court also kept this category separate in its decision. The statement issued by the army said that the Indian Army is fully prepared to give all women officers the opportunity to serve the country. There was a demand for this permanent commission for a long time.
