NSA Ajit Doval to visit Kashmir today to take stock of the situation

New Delhi: National Security Adviser (NSA) Ajit Doval is scheduled to visit Kashmir today after the removal of Section 370 from Jammu and Kashmir. The situation in Jammu, Srinagar and Doda is normal after nearly 24 hours of the historic announcement. Late last night, Governor Satypal Malik held a review meeting with senior officials on security. 

In Srinagar, people were seen leaving their homes this morning to talk around. In Jammu and Kashmir, the ban on the rally, procession, section 144 has been imposed in the state. Security forces were deployed in every area of Jammu and Kashmir. Mobile phone and internet services in the Kashmir Valley have been suspended, with all schools and colleges in the state instructed to remain closed. On August 5, examinations for universities have also been postponed till further orders.

40 additional Companies of CRPF have been deployed in Jammu. 8000 security personnel from various states have been evacuated to Jammu and Kashmir. More than 6000 tourists have left Kashmir in the last 24 hours. The government has also issued necessary instructions on reducing fares from airlines.
