New Delhi: The country is now witnessing a steady decline in coronavirus cases. With the arrival of the third wave in the country, the situation has also started to improve. According to the data, 44,877 new cases of the virus have been reported from across the country today. After this, the total number of corona patients has now reached 4,26,31,421. The death toll due to the virus has reached 5,08,665 after 684 patients died in the last 24 hours. The Union Health Ministry said that the active cases of corona infection in the country have come down to 5.37 lakh.
According to the ministry, 1,17,591 people have also recovered from the virus across the country in the last 24 hours, after which, the number of people who have recovered from corona so far has gone up to 4,15,85,711. The figure of active cases is currently 5,37,045, which is 1.26 per cent of the total cases. The daily positivity rate is 3.17 per cent. While the weekly positivity rate is 4.46 per cent. The recovery rate in the country has now reached 97.55 per cent.
Meanwhile, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said that 14,15,279 samples were tested for corona infection in India on Saturday, after which the number of sample testing in the country has now gone up to 75.07. The Health Ministry said that 172.81 crore corona vaccine doses have been administered so far across the country. On Wednesday, more than 49,16,801 lakh people were given the vaccine dose. According to the latest data, the total vaccination figure in India has now reached 1,72,81,49,447.
