Indore: A group of nursing staff from MGM Medical College and other hospitals including its affiliated MYH are on strike nowadays. In fact, last Sunday also, the striking employees demonstrated at the main gate of MYH. You must be aware that the association official had spoken to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in Indore last Saturday. Despite the assurances received, they don't called off the strike. The state-wide strike is said to be decided by the office bearers of the association sitting in Bhopal.

In fact, so far, these officials have not been called for discussion by the Minister nor have there been any successful meetings with the officials of the Department. It is now being asked to take an important decision on the strike today. The association officials are meeting with the commissioner of medical education on Monday. If a decision is not taken even today, then action is being taken against the striking nursing staff and nursing students. Recently, district president of the association Dharmendra Pathak has said that "The strike will continue till all our major demands are met".

You may know that chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had assured the nurses association officials last Saturday during his visit to Indore that their demands would be considered after discussing with the Medical Education Minister. In Indore, the Nurses Association has been protesting for the past 20 days.
