Odisha police detained a man with up to 14 wives on Monday for allegedly defrauding them of lakhs of rupees by acting as a doctor.
According to police, all of his victims were highly educated, with one of them being a professor, a doctor, and an officer in the Armed Police Forces.
Ramesh Chandra Swain, 65, married his first wife in 1982 and his second wife in 2002. He is the father of five children. He met 12 other women using matrimonial websites between 2002 and 2020 and married them while acting as a doctor. He is the father of three children from his first marriage and two children from his second marriage.
