Bhubaneswar: Odisha government has announced some changes in the upcoming Plus II examination in the State. The announcement comes on Monday, January 25.

Odisha School and Mass Education Minister, Samir Ranjan Dash said that questions will mainly come from the reduced syllabus. This applies to both regular and ex-regular students enrolled in the new syllabus and those candidates who have registered in 2016 or later.  According to the Minister, the students will have to appear the Plus II exam which will have 50 percent multiple-choice questions.

Each question will carry 1 mark. In addition, there will be short-answer type questions in 30% with multiple-choice options. Such questions will carry 2 or 3 marks each. However,  there will be no change in the exam pattern for the candidates who had registered in 2015 or earlier. The syllabus and question pattern will remain the same as per the previous year, official sources said.

In another development in Odisha,   the visually-impaired higher secondary students in the state can do away with audio tapes or the reading assistants as the Braille Press in Berhampur has begun production of textbooks for the sightless students of Plus-II colleges across the State. The printing facility is expected to complete the printing of Literature, English, Political Science and History books prescribed by the State government for Arts stream, by the end of February 2021.
