Kandhamal: A number of strange cases are coming to light from the country day in and day out. The resident woman of the district took a step that no woman can imagine. A woman in Kandhamal pushed her two children into the well after her husband's dispute. In both, the children, the age of the daughter was 9 years while that of the son was 5 years. Both the children died due to drowning in the well.

According to police, the woman carried out the incident after a dispute with her husband in a domestic dispute. Police officials in the Raikia block of the Kandhamal district said Bhagyalakshmi Patra, a resident of Christian Sahi, left home with her two children on Friday afternoon after a dispute with her husband M Rajesh Patra.

Inspector Srikant Khamari of the same Raikia police station said that the woman pushed both her children into the well, killing both the children. Though the woman did not jump into the well herself, her husband and villagers found the woman crying near the well on Saturday morning. The bodies of the two children were seized from the well with the help of firemen after a lot of effort. The woman has been admitted to the hospital through her condition is said to be stable. Police said a case of murder will be registered against her and she will be arrested.
