Bhubaneswar: According to the official electoral lists, the number of voters in Odisha increased by 4,31,441 this year, bringing the total to 3,29,83,643. According to the final electoral rolls released by the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) on Wednesday, there are 1,67,96,603 male voters and 1,61,83,835 female voters.

According to CEO SK Lohani, there are also 3,025 people who fall under the Third Gender category. The total number of voters on the final electoral rolls for 2021 was 3,25,52,202. This year's final rolls have 5,23,774 voters in the 18-19 age range, he said.

Lohani further said that 9,50,789 new voters' names were added, while 3,82,601 identities were deleted and 3,82,601 names were corrected. He said that the quality of the electoral rolls had improved, claiming that the number of non-photo voters had decreased from 3,38,458 to 84,694. He said that the gender ratio on the electoral rolls has risen from 958 to 964.He also noted a significant increase in online applications, which increased from 7 percent to 66.44 percent this year.

Another voter-friendly initiative implemented by the Election Commission this year is the free door delivery of voter cards via fast post in specially designed envelopes, according to Lohani. The newly-registered voters can also get e-EPICs by logging into www.nvsp.in, according to the officer.
