BHUBANESWAR: Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said  that High-velocity 5G services will be rolled out in a few big cities of Odisha by March 2023.

Speaking to media persons in Bhubaneswar, IT Minister  Vaishnaw said that the initial phase of the rollout of 5G services will include 200 or more Indian cities. By the end of March 2023, he said, a handful of Odisha's major cities will also be connected to the 5G network during this phase.

Around 80% of the state will be serviced by high-speed Internet service by the end of 2023 under phase-II, he said. Phase 1 will cover all of the major cities, after which semi-urban areas and then rural areas across the nation will receive the service.

Vaishnaw, who is also the railway minister, stated that he has asked his older brother and education minister Dharmendra Pradhan to perform the Bhumi Puja in order to transform Bhubaneswar Railway Station into a world-class station. The massive project's physical construction will then start, he said.

On Sunday, Vaishanw also formally unveiled India's first aluminium freight rake, number 61 (BOBRNALHSM1). Bilaspur is the rake's final destination.

The minister stated that in the upcoming days, passenger trains will also be built using lightweight technology. He stated that by transporting more freight while loaded and using less gasoline in empty directions, the carbon impact will be reduced. About the course of its lifetime, one rake can reduce CO2 emissions by over 14,500 tonnes.

This  is a committed effort for the Make in India programme because it was entirely designed and created domestically in partnership with Hindalco, Besco Wagon, and the Research Design and Standards Organization (RDSO).

There is no welding on the superstructure; the construction is entirely lock bolted. The tare is 3.25 tonnes less than typical steel rakes, and they claimed that the 180 tonnes of additional carrying capacity led to higher productivity per waggon.
