Odisha Government has decided to resume the post-graduation (PG) and under graduation (UG) classes from February 10 for which the hostels for the students will also be reopened from February 8. This was informed today by Odisha Higher Education Minister Arun Sahoo.

Notably, the pandemic situation is gradually improving and most of the activities, especially educational institutions, are being resumed. Talking to media, the Minister informed that the postgraduate first-year classes and UG second year classes will commence from February 10 while the UG third semester exams will be conducted between April 19 and 30.

The Higher Education Minister also informed that the fifth semester of the Under Graduate course will also be conducted from April 19 while the results of third and fifth semesters will be published on May 31. He added that the post graduate first semester exams will be conducted from June 7 to 19 and the results will be published by July 20.

Last week the Odisha government had taken another important decision to reopen the Aanganwadis as the long closure of the elementary education centres could result in depriving children of the precious learning lessons. As per the government direction, the centres opened on Tuesday following proper sanitization of classrooms and strict adherence to the Covid-19 guidelines issued by the State government. The staff at these centres have been instructed to implement all pandemic precautions with sincerity.
