BHUBANESWAR: Odisha's overall GST collection increased by 27.35 percent in January 2022 compared to the same month in 2021, officials said on Thursday. Last month, the state collected Rs 3,995.40 crore, compared to Rs 3137.45 crore in January of the previous year.
The cumulative gross GST collection for the current financial year up to January was Rs 36,108.52 crore. According to state GST officials, the state collected Rs 23,226.91 crore until January of previous fiscal year, representing a 55.46 percent increase. In January 2022, the State GST (SGST) collection increased by 47 percent. Last month, the SGST collection was Rs 1,143.14 crore, compared to Rs 777.71 crore in January 2021.
The cumulative gross SGST collection was Rs 10,239.39 crore in January 2022, compared to Rs 6,556.47 crore in January 2021, representing a 56.17 percent increase.
CGST, IGST, and Cess collections totaled Rs 965.92 crore, Rs 1134.15 crore, and Rs 752.19 crore in the month under review. With a growth rate of 2.18 percent, overall VAT collection (petrol and liquor) was Rs 853.43 crore in January 2022, up from Rs 835.23 crore in the same month the previous year.
Petroleum goods accounted for Rs 657.99 crore in revenue, while liquor accounted for Rs 195.43 crore.
