Thursday, officially check Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), Election officials conducted a preparatory check of which have been excluded and reserved in the warehouse of the Elections department.
On Mrach 18 a total of 911 Ballot Units (BU) and Control Units (CU) for all the 23 Assembly constituencies in the Puducherry region were segregated constituency wise after the first phase of randomisation of EVMs.
The EVMs and control units would be stored in the warehouse and would be opened only after the process of nomination of candidates begins. The ballot and control units would be kept under tight security. The first randomisation of Ballot Units and Control Units was done to randomly assign EVMs to Constituencies.
