Om Puri has worked in various bollywood films. He was very popular actors and was famous for playing various roles in his career. The actor always remained in controversy for his for his controversial remarks.

In 2009 autobiography of Om Puri penned down by his wife, Journalist-columnist Nandita Puri exposed the veteran actor’s double sex escapades with two maids. In the book titled Unlikely Hero: The Story Of Om Puri. She said Om had sex with his maid Shanti at the age of 14 and had a long-term sexual and romantic relationship with a woman named Laxmi.

Once Om Puri also gave a controversial statements on Army men. As he said, “Who had asked the soldiers to join the army? Who told them to pick the weapons?” In the wake of Uri attacks and the banning of Pakistani artists working in Indian cinema industry, Om Puri made a startling statement on the national television.

Om Puri once also criticized beef banning in India. The actor said,  “(Those) who wanted to put a ban on slaughtering cows in the country were hypocrites. We export beef and earn dollars from it.” The beef ban was one of the most debatable topics in India.

Om Puri's death was a mysterious death. The  sudden death came as a huge shock to the Bollywood film fraternity and the actor's fans. The star was found dead on January 6 at his Lokhandwala's Oakland Park residence when the doorbell went unanswered on Friday morning. Om, who was believed to be in good health and had returned from work, was reported to have died of a fatal heart attack mean several people called his death a murder.
