Om Raut, a filmmaker, requested film theatre owners across the country to leave one seat empty for Lord Hanuman everytime his film Adipurush is shown. Many cinema owners appear to have complied with his request.

Om Raut took to Twitter on Saturday to post images of seats dedicated for Lord Hanuman. It depicted theatrical seats adorned with saffron cloth, garlands, flowers, and portraits of Lord Hanuman. Om Raut wrote, "Jai Shri Ram."

According to a PTI report, some were seen praying, some resting for a moment, and, of course, those taking mandatory photographs of the strange scene before settling down to watch the film. Incense sticks and coconuts were also visible in videos from several movie theatres. A fan costumed as Hanuman was seen greeting moviegoers outside a theatre in a video. Another supposedly showed a man being beaten up in Hyderabad for sitting on the seat dedicated for the Hindu god. Om Raut said, "Everywhere in the world, wherever there is an Adipurush show, I request the producer and distributor to keep one seat for Hanuman ji; he will come to see Ramayan."

Prabhas plays Raghav, Kriti Sanon plays Janaki, and Saif Ali Khan plays Lankesh in the multilingual 3D spectacular, which was premiered on Friday to significant praise. T-Series' Bhushan Kumar produced it.
