A tragic shooting near a mosque in Muscat, Oman's capital, left four people dead and several others injured, according to police on Tuesday.

The Royal Oman Police reported the incident occurred in the Al-Wadi Al-Kabir area. Authorities quickly responded to the scene, confirming an initial count of four fatalities and multiple injuries.

In a statement posted on social media platform X, the police assured the public that all necessary security measures had been taken. They are actively gathering evidence and conducting investigations to understand the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.

"We have implemented all required security protocols and continue to investigate the incident thoroughly," the police statement read.
