On this day 18 years ago ie 13th July 2002, the young team of Sourav Ganguly got a victory which was forever in the mind of every Indian, which no one can forget and the text of this story was written by two of Sourav Ganguly's team player ie Young Yuvraj Singh and Mohammad Kaif. India won a historic victory in the NatWest Trophy final at Lord's ground in 2002. The England team, captained by Nasir Hussain, batted first in that match and scored 325 runs at the loss of five wickets. Marcus Trescothick played the match with 109 and captain Hussein with 115 runs.

Chasing a big target, Sourav Ganguly and Virender Sehwag partnered 106 runs for the first wicket but from here the team suddenly got shaken and its score fell 5 wickets for 146 runs in 24 overs. After the dismissal of Ganguly, India lost the wickets of Sehwag, Dinesh Mongia, Rahul Dravid, and Sachin Tendulkar at regular intervals. Mohammad Kaif and Yuvraj Singh kept the game alive and took the team to the threshold of victory in partnership.

Where both together shared 121 runs from 106 balls and took India back to the match. Paul Collingwood sent Yuvraj Singh to the pavilion on a personal score of 69 and it felt that India would have lost but Mohammad Kaif shared the 47-run partnership with Harbhajan Singh in the team match. Even after the dismissals of Harbhajan and Anil Kumble, Mohammad Kaif won India by holding one end. Kaif came back unbeaten on 87 off 75 balls.
