On Sunday, a team of Guwahati Police officers arrested a suspected drug seller in the Gorchuk area. From the last severeal years the city become the hub of drug dealers.

According to police sources, the suspect was detained because there was information that he was actively involved in drug peddling and dealings. The police raided the home of a person named as Babidul in Katabatic, Nirorapar, based on the information. During an on-the-spot interrogation, it was revealed that Babidul alias Bobby was involved in illegal drug trafficking.

 During a search of his home, officers discovered 28.20 grammes of probable heroin in 38 vials. He was brought into jail right afterwards, and legal proceedings were started. Another drug trafficker was apprehended in Nagaon on the same day.  Suraj Ali, a resident of Pashchim Salapara in Rupahihat, was arrested. The accused was found with a small amount of suspected heroin in seven vials by the police.
