Raipur: On Friday, one Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) soldier, who was injured in an encounter with Naxals in forests of Saleghat area in Chhattisgarh’s Dhamtari, succumbed to his injuries. Another jawan who sustained an injury in the encounter is still undergoing treatment. According to reports, a heavy loss was also inflicted on the Naxals. However, it is worth mention here that in the reported incident there are no reports of casualties of Naxals in the gunfight and two BSF jawans were also injured.
According to reports, In the reported incident a commandment of the 211 Battalion who had been out for patrolling operations has reached the incident spot with a reinforcement party. It is to be noted that more details of the incident are awaited. It is to be noted that yesterday 4 BSF soldiers were martyr in gun battle in a Chattisgarh kanker district.

However, it is worth mention here that in the incident, two BSF jawans were also injured. "One jawan of the 114 battalion of BSF died while two others sustained injuries in an encounter that broke out between the security forces and Naxals," DIGP Anti Naxal Operation P Sundarraj told ANI. Chhattisgarh is going for votes in three phases on April 11, 18 and 23 and the counting of votes will take place on May 23.
In a similar incident from Gaya district, on March 16, Maoists had damaged a government school building by using an improvised explosive device (IED). In the blast, some rooms and genset of the school building were damaged at Sondhana village. A joint operation has been launched by para-military and police officials to nab the Maoist.
