Onions are rotting at ports, prices may decrease

Onion prices are touching the sky nowadays. Since last year, the continuous increase in onion prices has affected the common man the most. Onion was also the most contested issue. And political loaves were also served. Since onions are an important part of our kitchen. There is hardly any vegetable in which we will not put it.

In the past year itself, the increase in its price has raised a question mark on the government. After all, why did the government not take some steps even before such circumstances deteriorated. The deteriorating prices of onion have made the onion disappear from the common man's house. Most politics has also been done on the onion itself. And if we talk about the central government, then soon there is a possibility of the government selling the imported onions for Rs 22-23. Which will be 60 percent less than the recent prices.

If the news is believed, onion is likely to rot at the ports. Given this, the government can take these steps. Talking about the present time, the central government is importing onions at the rate of 58 rupees to the state government. Transport is also being affected due to the rising prices of onions. In view of the ever increasing onion prices, in 2019, the government had decided to import 1.2 lakh tonnes by the state-run MMTC. About 14,000 tonnes of onions have been purchased from MMTC overseas market.
