On Saturday, World Rapid Champion Koneru Humpy defeated Monica Socco in the semi-finals of the FIDE Online Chess Olympiad in a tie-break to give the country a win over Poland. With this, the Indian team has entered the final of Chess Olympiad.

Both teams won one match each in the regular game, after which Hampi was to face Sokko for Armageddon (tie break), and the Indian won against her and took her team in the final. In the second round, Gujarati, Humpy and D Harika also won. Apart from this, young R Praganananda lost to Igor Janik, while Vantika Aggarwal drew from Alicia Silvika.
