'Lies never succeed in politics': Sanjay Raut

Mumbai: Sanjay Raut, a Shiv Sena MP, said today that the opposition was entirely directionless throughout Maharashtra's Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA) government's two-year mandate. "The opposition has not succeeded in overthrowing the coalition government led by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, yet it keeps setting fresh dates for the government's exit from office," he recently remarked. In truth, the Uddhav Thackeray government has been in power for two years.

Sanjay Raut wrote in his monthly column 'Rokdhak' in the Shiv Sena newspaper Saamna, " "In politics, lies aren't always successful. Despite all attempts to "defame" his ministry in the previous two years, Thackeray has remained steadfast. Simultaneously, he took a swipe at the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), writing, "In November 2019, Devendra Fadnavis took the oath of office as chief minister for the second time (before the MVA government). Despite failing to remove the government from power, the opposition has set a new deadline for the removal of the MVA from power. 'It's a joke,' says the speaker.

You're probably aware that the Shiv Sena and the BJP split over the chief ministership after the 2019 state legislature elections. Devendra Fadnavis was inducted in as chief minister, and NCP leader Ajit Pawar was sworn in as deputy chief minister. The Fadnavis government fell apart, and the Shiv Sena created the Mahavikas Aghadi administration with its ideological opponents, the Congress and the NCP.
