JAIPUR: Director General of Police of Rajasthan, Bhupendra Singh has issued instructions to take action by investigating the case registered in the cyber police station for spreading rumors about the tapping of phones of some Congress MLAs who were staying in a hotel in Jaisalmer. The Director-General has asked Jaipur Police Commissioner Anand Srivastava to complete the investigation in this regard immediately.

Significantly, amid the continuing political developments in the state, the MLA of the Gehlot camp is staying at a hotel in Jaisalmer. The news of some of these MLAs tapping phones went viral on social media on Friday. The police called it a rumor. The Director-General of Police has also clarified that the phone of any MLA or MP was neither tapped before by any unit of Rajasthan Police nor is anything like this being done now. He said that the charge of recording the conversation on Intercom is also false and baseless.

The Rajasthan Police always acts to prevent criminal acts and illegal phone tapping is a criminal act. According to the statement of the police headquarters, so-called information is being circulated on social media with a view to creating confusion, claiming that the phones of half a dozen Congress MLAs staying in a hotel in Jaisalmer are being tapped illegally.
