Iga Swiatek continued her impressive run in the year 2022, defeating Naomi Osaka 6-4, 6-0 in the final of the Miami Open to clinch the women's category title and has taken her victory campaign to 17 matches.  

Ashley Barty's name has now come to the top of the women's rankings to be released on Monday. Australian Open champion Barty retired last month. Poland's Swiatek broke Osaka's serve in the first set to take a 3-2 lead and wrote down her name on the set in 52 minutes.  

Osaka posed the challenge in the first set but the second set was completely different in which Swiatek's dominance still remains. She has won the ninth match in a row in straight sets. This is Swiatek's third title in the year 2022. She has reached the final six times since the French Open 2020 and has managed to win all of them.
