New Delhi: Recently it has been learned that more than 600 cases of assault on policemen have been registered in the national capital in the last three years. The government gave this information in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, 3 December 2019. The Minister of State for Home Affairs, G. Krishna Reddy said that from 2017 to 31 October 2019, 8 such cases were registered in which lawyers beat policemen and no one was arrested.

According to information received from sources, Reddy said that in 2017, 232 cases of policemen were attacked by miscreants, followed by 219 in 2018 and 156 in 2019. At the same time, he also said that 1,226 miscreants were arrested for assaulting policemen.

If we talk about the sources, the minister said in a written reply that in 2017, 437 miscreants were arrested for assaulting policemen, 458 in 2018 and 331 people have been arrested till October 31 in 2019.
