New Delhi: The Delhi High Court has rejected the interim bail plea of former finance minister and veteran Congress leader P Chidambaram, arrested in the INX Media money laundering case. Earlier, the Medical Board submitted the health report of P. Chidambaram to the High Court. Based on the report of the Medical Board, the court has refused to grant relief to Chidambaram. The court has ordered the Tihar jail administration to clean up around Chidambaram twice a day. Along with this, they should be given masks.

The court directed the Director of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) to set up a medical board by Thursday evening to react to P Chidambaram's health condition. A bench of Justice Suresh Kat said that the board should also include Nageshwar Reddy of the Hyderabad-based Asian Institute of Gastroenterology (AIG), who treats Chidambaram, to give him feedback on Chidambaram's health.

The bench had clarified that the medical board should meet by 7 pm on Thursday. If Dr. Reddy cannot reach Delhi from Hyderabad by then, the meeting will be held at ten in the morning on Friday, so that he can give his response. Earlier, arguing on behalf of Chidambaram on the petition, senior advocate Kapil Sibal said that Chidambaram should be taken to Hyderabad for treatment at his expense as he needed a sterile environment.
