New Delhi: Congress-BJP's political battle has reached the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation after the martyrdom of 20 Indian soldiers in the bloody conflict with China in the Galvan Valley on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh. The Congress has reacted sharply to the BJP's charge of funding China at the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation (RGF).
Former finance minister and veteran Congress leader P Chidambaram said that BJP's national president JP Nadda specializes in speaking half-truths. If RGF returns 20 lakh rupees, will PM Modi assure the country that China will vacate India's land and restore the status quo? Chidambaram tweeted and wrote, 'BJP President JP Nadda is adept at speaking half-truths. My colleague Randeep Surjewala exposed half of his truth yesterday.'
Chidambaram said that the grant to RGF 15 years ago has to do with the infiltration of Indian territory in China under the supervision of Modi government in 2020. Chidambaram said, 'Suppose if RGF returns 20 lakh rupees, will PM Modi assure the country that China will clear its encroachment and restore the status quo? Mr. Nadda, to come to terms with reality, does not live in a past that is distorted by your half-hearted truth. Please answer our questions on Chinese intrusion into Indian territory.'
